The two most important elements of the sculpture are mass and space, which are separable only in thought.
All sculpture is made of a material substance that has mass and exists in three-dimensional space. The mass of sculpture is thus the solid, material, space-occupying bulk that is contained within its surfaces, and let\’s not forget the light.
The light is an essential element in the sculpture because is the reflection of the Sculptural Object.
The mass in a sculpture is related to its voluptuosity that for me is the richness of extensive spaces, in a harmonic and sensual expression providing gratification for all the senses in a delicate process, a fluid process, because it feels like an extension of your body (in the case of jewelry), in an unsettled or unstable way; a form that changes and moves with you with grace.
It\’s Jewelry a kind of mordent sculpture?
For us, the answer is clearly yes, and for you?

Ines Arenas Jewelry Gallery Says Thank You…
…for staying with us through the article: “The Sculptural Object”.
For us, jewelry is an art form where others might think that jewelry becomes art through how it is presented.
But we believe that is the mixture between presentation and content that makes jewelry an art form. One doesn’t happen without the other.
Jewelry is a representation of our history and beliefs in symbols that have changed with the time to express our personal beliefs regarding politics, sexuality, religion, family, and even social status, since the Roman Empire in western civilization.
Jewelry, thanks to the internet, is going to become a language, a vocabulary, a way to talk, understood around the world because any art is about connection including Jewelry.
This is Why We Present Jewelry As We Do It!
But You, “The viewer is the last stroke in any jewelry piece”.
