JEWELRY DESIGNER

Zaha Hadid, Born in Iraq in 1950, Hadid studied at the Architectural Association in London using photocopiers and papers in innovative ways, before computers aided her designs. She was the first woman to win the Pritzker and was also the first woman awarded the Royal Gold Medal by the Royal Institute of British Architects.
\”Working with Georg Jensen presented an opportunity to express our ideas on different scales and through different media,\” said Hadid in one of her many interviews.

HOW TO WEAR IT

This sculptural double cuff is part of the desirable Lamellae collection, created exclusively for Georg Jensen by the famed architect Zaha Hadid. The Lamellae architectural and optical art pieces were made in a limited edition of only 50 pieces and were inspired by Hadid\’s Wangling Soho building in China.
With their manta-ray-like curves and striated metal that plays with perceptions of light and shade It is a wearable architectural model, a Zaha Hadid building in miniature.

You really need to be quite confident to wear them.

ADDED VALUE

We have or had genuine geniuses in the times that we live. We have Stephen Hawking in physic and math, Steve Jobs in technology, Noam Chomsky in philosophy, and Kathryn Bigelow as a movie director, I think that Thom Yorke (Radiohead singer) in music and Zaha Hadid not as an architect but as a designer. Design as a concept is defined as a \”roadmap or a strategic approach for someone to achieve a unique expectation. It defines the specifications, plans, parameters, costs, activities, processes and how and what to do within legal, political, social, environmental, safety and economic constraints in achieving that objective\”. (Don Kumaragamage, Y. Design Manual Vol 1). \”Achieve a unique expectation\”  that was what Zaha Hadid did in each one of her designs; she was a great architect, a great jewelry designer, a great interior designer, and a great furniture designer. She was just a great designer in the pure meaning of the statement. How she did do it? The seven visual elements of art are form, shape, color, value, texture, space, and line. And the line, the hallmark of the arts. But a dot is considered the beginning of the elements. A dot marks the beginning and the end of a line. And I think that the use of  \”The Dot\” is what Zaha Hadid masteries. AND THAT IS JUST: GENIUS!!
